Currently, trauma is being classified as a trauma and stressor-related disorder. To be considered a trauma-related disorder, the person must have been exposed to trauma by either being a witness, either directly or indirectly, or personally experiencing the trauma. At Análaigh Heals Therapy Group, we work with people with many different types of trauma. Trauma can cause attachment ruptures when the trauma is experienced early in a child’s life and is repeated which is why trauma from early childhood is called chronic post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) or complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD). In acute stressful situations, the traumatic event is a one-time occurrence, such as an automobile accident, the death of a loved one, etc.

Treating Trauma with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, or EMDR, is a trauma treatment that has proven to be effective for those with PTSD and trauma. At first glance, it might seem like a strange type of treatment, however, studies have shown just how powerful it can be in helping individuals overcome even the most complex traumas.
Treating Trauma with Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP)
Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) is an evidence-based approach designed to support young children (aged 0-5) and their caregivers in healing from trauma.
